Introduction :
Lance Adams Syndrome is a rare chronic post-hypoxic condition featured by persistent action myoclonus within days to weeks after resuscitation in patients who have regained consciousness. The action myoclonus is well known refractory to multiple
anti-epileptic medications and severely affects the functioning and quality of life.
Owing to the scarcity of the condition, only a few cases were reported demonstrating the marked response of Perampanel without any consensus guideline.
Objectives :
Trial of off-label use of Perampanel to control the myoclonus to improve the mobility and quality of life of patient
Methodology :
Trial of off-label use of Perampanel
Result & Outcome :
Marked improvement in myoclonus control and mobility after the off-label use of Perampanel. Patient could improve from walking with 2 major assistances with rollator frame for 5 meters to walking with stand-by assistance with frame for 10 meters after 3 weeks of perampanel and physical therapy.
