Introduction :
Nowadays, with the increasing service demand from the community and advanced information technology (IT), KCC FM&PHC utilizes existing IT facilities and series informatics services to enhance patient and staff experience is a strategic approach that can significantly improve service delivery and provide superior quality of patient care throughout the clinic visit journey.
Objectives :
.
Methodology :
1. Booking & registration
Patients can book consultation through the GOPC Telephone Appointment System or the "Book GOPC" feature in "HA Go”, They also can use E-payment counter, Automated Check-in Kiosks or “HA Go” for payment and registration.
2. Consultation & Nursing Services
Patients can self-measure their vital signs at E-vital area in clinic and know their queuing status via Easy-Q function for GOPC in “HA Go” or CQMS at clinic. The paperless electrocardiogram records can be uploaded directly to CMS. Nurses can also use Electronic Injection Record (EIR) and Electronic Wound Packing Module to provide injection and wound packing documentation. The Electronic Health Records (EHR) can provide quick access to patient history by healthcare providers for enhancing their decision-making. Moreover, patients can view their records, lab results, and health updates in “HA Go”.
3. Follow up arrangement
The follow up appointment would be displayed in “HA Go” with reminders. Clinicians could offer Telemedicine service for those with chronic conditions.
4. Medication Collection
Patients can use remote ticketing in Easy-Q Pharmacy and medication delivery service via “HA Go” to get electronic ticket and select to deliver their medications to designated address such as home / office / choosing community collection points.
Result & Outcome :
Almost all of the above smart initiatives with 100% coverage in those out-patient clinics under KCC, especially EHR, paperless electrocardiogram, EIR and Electronic Wound Packing Module. They can bolster patient safety through accurate, accessible and actionable information. Others can reduce the physical crowding in clinics, more convenience to patients (especially benefit for those in a hurry or elderly with limited mobility) and reduce resources like paper, cash handling, record retrieval and transportation. By integrating these IT facilities within out-patient clinics offer numerous advantages that enhance patient care, streamline operations and improve overall efficiency, safety, accuracy and security. Both patients and staff showed support with appreciations – Win-Win Situation.
