Introduction :
In today's busy work environment, prioritizing staff wellness is essential for cultivating a productive and harmonious workplace. Recognizing the importance of mental and physical well-being, our department established a dedicated staff wellness subcommittee in 2021 and launched a series of activities designed to boost staff engagement and foster a culture of health.
Objectives :
Our primary objective is to enhance staff well-being through a combination of informative resources and interactive events that encourage social interaction and promote physical activity.
Methodology :
To achieve our wellness goals, we implemented a variety of activities throughout the years. In 2024, we published four quarterly staff wellness newsletters, providing valuable insights into mental and physical health, nutrition, and fitness. In November 2024, we organized a department picnic at Lam Tsuen and Butterfly Valley Organic Farm, offering staff and their families a relaxing opportunity to connect outside the office. Additionally, we hosted a series of workshops each quarter, including coffee tasting, stretching and dancing, aerobics, and balloon art. These activities catered to diverse interests and encouraged active participation. Through this, we also explored the various interests of our colleagues beyond work, promoting the sharing of expertise and hobbies.
Result & Outcome :
The implementation of these wellness initiatives has significantly strengthened bonds among colleagues, enhancing overall staff morale and reinforcing a culture of health within our department. Feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the effectiveness of these activities in improving job satisfaction and productivity. Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding our wellness offerings, ensuring that all staffs have the opportunity to thrive both personally and professionally.
