Introduction :
Vascular malformation presents a clinical challenge requiring coordinated care from multiple specialities. We have established a monthly multidisciplinary outpatient clinic for these patients with members including plastic surgeon, interventional radiologists, pediatric surgeons and hematooncologist. We believe there are many benefits from this model of care.
Objectives :
To recognise the advantages of this model of care and raise the awareness of healthcare professionals of this rare condition
Methodology :
Patient demographics, diagnosis and subsequent management of those who have attended this clinic was recruited and analysed.
Result & Outcome :
Between Oct 2023 and Dec 2024, there were total 14 episodes of this monthly clinic held. A total of 30 patients were referred and seen in this joint clinic and all the sessions were co-chaired by specialists of expertise in managing vascular malformation. Some of the patients were reviewed in this clinic again after treatment, making up a total of 42 consultations. The average referral to clinic time is only 41 days and all the patients were able to confirm diagnosis based on clinical examination, bedside USG and review of MRI in all cases. 18 out of 30 patients already underwent angiographic assessment and/or treatment. 5 of them was referred for medical therapy. There were three of them underwent interventional radiology treatment followed by surgical resection and eventually achieved a cure from the condition.

This model of care shows an efficient model in diagnosing and managing this rare condition. Other healthcare professionals should be aware of this rare condition and refer their patients to this clinic for further management
