Introduction :
Childbirth is often an overwhelming experience for expectant parents, marked by uncertainty and anxiety. A birth plan is a written summary of a mother’s preferences for labor and birth and has been in use for many years. A well-structured and user-friendly birth plan enables couples to understand their choices and preferences, easing the decision-making process.

To address this need, our team introduced a newly designed birth plan featuring a simplified layout and QR codes that link to detailed explanations. This innovation aims to streamline decision-making and improve the overall experience for expectant parents.
Objectives :
The study aimed to compare satisfaction levels between the newly designed birth plan and the traditional version. Additional objectives included evaluating submission rates and gathering feedback on the usability and clarity of the new format.
Methodology :
A total of 100 expectant mothers at term pregnancy were randomized to receive either the old (n=50) or the new (n=50) birth plan. Participants were encouraged to submit their completed plans upon admission. Quantitative data were collected through submission rates, while qualitative feedback was obtained via post-admission surveys.
Result & Outcome :
The submission rate for the new birth plan was significantly higher compared to the old version. Additionally, 85% of mothers who used the new plan reported a positive experience. Participants highlighted the simplified design and QR codes as key features that improved usability and understanding. Many expressed feelings more confident and empowered to communicate their preferences with healthcare providers.
