This abstract has open access
Abstract Description

To address the three typical accessibility challenges revealed by our previous studies on super-large hospitals - poor orientation, poor navigation and poor experience - we conduct analysis on access typologies and their interconnections, and, based on such efforts, propose the "Three Highs Principles" for access design of super-large hospitals: high recognizability, high accessibility, and high connectivity, to enhance the hospital access design. We also explore and discuss such "Three-highs Principles" through project cases in and outside China, aiming to establish profound connections among urbanism, healthcare facilities, and humanity.
