The presentation will explore the evolution and current state of medical surgical robots and AI technologies. Surgical robots have progressed from ancient practices and open surgeries to minimally invasive operations and, more recently, embodied AI-driven robot-assisted procedures, enhancing precision while reducing invasiveness. Similarly, AI has evolved from performing basic recognition tasks to enabling complex understanding, significantly improving the autonomy and efficiency of surgical robots.
In addition to examining these advancements, the presentation will focus on the integration of AI and Robotics, Embodied AI, highlighting the latest international breakthroughs and cutting-edge technologies in this field. It will also introduce key scientific challenges being addressed by Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Hong Kong Institute of Science & Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with its most recent research achievements.
Finally, the presentation will offer a forward-looking perspective on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges in this rapidly evolving field, providing valuable insights into its development and transformative potential.
